About Me

My calling to become a teacher came to me when I joined the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher volunteer. I experienced the power of education to transform lives – my students’ and my own. I have been teaching now for twenty-three years, including teaching ESL overseas and Special Education in Bellingham schools. Both my Bachelor’s degree in English and my Master in Teaching degree come from Western Washington University. My teaching certifications are in Special Education and English Language arts. I have served as a private tutor for fourteen years.
